The needs of your pet is going to depend on many factors, such as their age, health, and personality. They have their unique level of desire for different kind of activities. Frequent movement is needed for all dogs to keep their ideal weight a physical well-being. It is also important for their happiness and to maintain their mental well-being. Just like humans, dogs also need to release their energy they gained throughout the day especially if they spend most of their time inside an apartment and/or alone. Physical activities that allows them to meet other dogs and humans, interact with them while discovering new environments will help your dog in developing the appropriate social skills they need for their rest of their life. In general we can state that poodles are not different, they are the happiest if they receive sufficient amount of physical and mental stimuli. The daily minimum should be between 30mins up to 2 hours. Poodles perform well in sports as well such as agility, running, fetching, etc. They also enjoy learning new tricks and skills. If you have the opportunity, it is highly recommended to take your poodle to training classes where you can learn together and it is a great place to socialise both for the dogs and their owners. The best is to start at young age as this is the time when they are the most open to adapt and learn.
As responsible dog owners, we shall not forget about using leash while walking our poodles, no matter how smart and well-behaved your dog is, unexpected impulses could happen any time that could potentially scare them trying to run away for safety. If you wish to let them run freely, make sure you are in an area that is protected by fence so your poodle is safe at all times.
