1. Pedigree:
This document helps in understanding and tracing the lineage of the puppy, essentially a family tree that spans 4 generations. Pedigree certificates are only given to dogs whose parents also have valid pedigree certificates.
Currently, three types of pedigree certificates are issued:
Registration Certificate: The parents have pedigree certificates but no breeding permit. This type of pedigree does not include the ancestors.
Standard Pedigree Certificate: The parents have breeding permits and the required health screenings.
Premium Pedigree Certificate: The parents have breeding permits, required health screenings, and at least one of them has won a dog show title.
The Hungarian pedigree certificate is issued by MEOESZ (Hungarian Kennel Club) after the dog is microchipped.
This is an A4, two-sided document, with the first side containing the following information:
Dog's name, pedigree number
Transponder (chip) number
Date of birth
Coat, size, color, gender
Breeder's name and address
Exhibition location and date
List of ancestors going back 4 generations (2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great-grandparents, 16 great-great-grandparents)
FCI and MEOESZ logos
The second side records owner changes, performance test results, and the MEOESZ-TIRR number. Pedigree certificates issued abroad must be registered within the MEOESZ system in Hungary.
2. Pet Health Record:
This mandatory record is issued by a veterinarian and contains information about the dog's treatments, vaccinations, medications, and illnesses.
It is a 16-page booklet measuring 10x15 cm and includes:
Serial number of the vaccination record, date of issue
Veterinarian's signature and chamber stamp
Details of the owner
Details of the breeder
Details of the animal
Location of the photo
Pedigree name
Breed
Date of birth
Color
Gender
Microchip number, implantation date, veterinarian's seal and signature
Important health entries, treatments (date, diagnosis, therapy)
Rabies vaccinations, parasite treatments (date, vaccine type, veterinarian's signature, stamp)
Other vaccinations and parasite treatments (date, vaccine, veterinarian's signature)
Official certificates, entries
Guidelines related to pet health protection
3. Pet Passport:
If you plan to travel abroad with your puppy, it will need a passport for crossing borders. This document, similar to the health record, contains your dog's general information along with its previous health treatments, vaccinations, and illnesses. It is issued by a veterinarian. So, if you need to visit a vet abroad or provide proof of your dog's vaccinations, this multilingual document will be what you can present. In some cases, border authorities may check for the passport, and if it's missing, they may deny entry for the dog.
